How much do I save?
How is a WinO2 unit calculated?
The value of a WinO2 unit is calculated using statistical elements taken from published and publicly available data from the INSEE institute (statistics and economic studies) and the ADEME agency (environment and energy savings).
The value is merely indicative but tends toward a universal standard. To maintain coherency with the EcoWin goal of reducing the toxic impact of CO2 emissions and to simplify exchanges, this value is limited to consumption only and does not take into account fees for insurance, wear or upkeep.
Values:
One WinO2 unit is equal to €0.10.
One WinO2 unit is equal to 1 km.
WinO-service invoiced by EcoWin: this equals one euro for every 100 WinO2 units you buy or exchange
Calculation:
I am a passenger: I open an account and credit it with WinO2 units. WinO-service is added when I purchase.
Example: for a 300-km trip.
We are two people in the vehicle, myself and the driver:
My share corresponds to half of the trip; i.e., 300 km divided by 2 = 150 km
Therefore, I owe 150 WinO2 units for the trip
The driver’s account is credited with 15 euros
I receive a CO2 credit equivalent to 300 km (corresponding to the carbon dioxide saved by not using my vehicle)
We are three people in the vehicle, myself, another passenger and the driver:
My share corresponds to one-third of the trip; i.e., 300 km divided by 3 = 100 km
The other passenger and I each owe 100 WinO2 units for the trip
The driver’s account is credited with 20 euros
Each person transported receives a CO2 credit equivalent to 300 km (corresponding to the carbon dioxide saved by two passengers not using their vehicle)
Example: for the driver on a 300-km trip
We are two people in the vehicle, myself and a passenger:
The passenger owes me 300 km divided by 2, or 150 km
My account is credited with 15 euros
I receive no CO2 credit because I used my own vehicle
We are three people in the vehicle, myself and two passengers:
The two passengers owe me 300 km divided by 3, or 100 km each
I therefore receive 10 euros from each passenger
My account is credited with 20 euros
I receive no CO2 credit because I used my own vehicle
Important note: After having accumulated an amount of refundable euros as the driver, I can either ask to be refunded for this amount or use it to purchase more WinO2 units.
The ++ boxes
The “OTHER EXPENSES” box : Using this box, you can contribute to other expenses, such as tolls, vehicle upkeep or cleaning.
The “ADJUSTMENTS” box: You might sometimes need to make a refund because you erroneously calculated the number of kilometers covered or charged too much when you did the driving. You can use the “ADJUSTMENTS” box for payment.
Please note: generally speaking the WinO2 units found in the “ADJUSTMENTS” and “OTHER EXPENSES boxes are independent of the distance covered and do not provide carbon dioxide credits.
Bank transfers :
EcoWin covers bank transfer fees for all transfers above 500 WinO2. For the purchase of a lesser amount, there is a charge of 0.15 euros.
Bank refunding :
The trade-in value of WinO2 units acquired on trips and the amount spent for the purchase of non-utilized WinO2 units will be refunded if you so request. EcoWin pays bank transfer fees for all transfers above 50 euros. For the refund of a smaller amount, you will be charged 0.15 euros.
